CSP Safety Ovens
This small, cost-effective safety oven meets NFPA
Bulletin 86 requirements
for handling solvents and expelling hazardous vapor. Ideal for applications
such as flash curing paint samples, drying solvents, curing epoxies or
adhesives. Also useful in laboratories which require a variety of product
loads.
Rugged Industrial Construction
The oven exterior and door are built from
heavy gauge, cold rolled reinforced steel. The oven housing and duct
work are finished with a blue enamel
paint. The oven interior is lined with Type 304 stainless steel. All
interior seams are heli-arc welded vapor tight preventing fume infiltration
into the oven's insulated walls. The door is sealed around its entire
perimeter using a tubular silicone rubber gasket.
Reliable Heating Elements
Oven air is heated by an Eternal ' an open
wire resistance heating element designed and manufactured by Blue M Electric.
A solid state power relay
controls the heater from a signal from the STAT-1900'.
Volatile Fume Exhaust System
The CSP-400 oven is equipped with a powered
exhaust system to remove fumes from the oven interior. An exhaust blower
provides up to 90 cfm
to power this exhaust function. The control signal to the air heater
is interlocked with the airflow switch such that the heaters will not
operate unless the powered exhaust is functioning.
Safety Relief Panel
A blowout relief panel is installed in the rear wall
of the oven work space. This feature relieves any rapid increase in interior
pressure
that might result during the processing of solvents. The blowout panel
ruptures during a fault in pressure condition, venting the oven interior.
The
ruptured panel is contained by a perforated metal cage mounted on the
back wall of the oven.
Advanced Controls
The CSP-400 oven employs a STAT19001 control system.
This single loop temperature controller features a bright LED display
that shows setpoint,
oven temperature, control output, etc. during oven operation. Indicator
LEDs on the controller face log alarms and control output status during
oven operation. All control functions are accessed using three large
keys on the controller face, guided by prompts from the control display.
The STAT-190011 monitors oven air temperature using a sheathed Type J
thermocouple, located in the oven work space. Hardware and software interlocks
prevent accidental data loss or change.
Safety Purge Timer
A purge timer circuit is included in the STAT-19001
control system to provide a fresh air purge of the oven interior. The
purge timer circuit
is reset/started by opening and closing the oven door. The purge timer
allows the powered exhaust and recirculating blowers, to run for a preset
interval, flooding the oven with fresh air to remove built up volatile
fumes. The purge circuit is interlocked with the oven air heater to prevent
the heater from running during the purge cycle.
Independent Over-temperature Protection
Part of the STAT-1900® control system is the TempLimit® over-temperature
control. This is a 1/4 DIN FM approved electronic control with an independent
sheathed Type J thermocouple sensor. This device provides overtemperature
protection, and is standard with the STAT-1900® control system. When
oven temperature exceeds the selected operating limit, the air heater
is turned off, an audible alarm sounds and a panel mounted indicator
light is lit. Manual reset is required to restore normal oven operation.
Flexible Product Loading
Wire rod shelves are available for use in the
CSP-400 oven. There are a maxirnum of seven (7) shelf positions. Shelves
are available in either
nickel plated or stainless steel. Stainless steel is recommended for
greater strength and cleanliness. Adjustable brackets for each shelf
are included.
