In an article published by ALN Magazine, David
Waldrab, NE Regional Manager for Thermal Product Solutions (TPS), outlines the
benefits of using dry heat sterilization for animal lab sterilization.
Compared to steam, dry heat sterilization systems use no
water, less energy and require less maintenance. A dry heat sterilization system
can be installed in an existing animal lab for about 60% of the cost for a
comparable steam sterilization system.
In the article, Waldrab cites a case study illustrating how
Robert Harris, D.V.M, Director of Laboratory Animal Services, Rutgers increased cage processing capability by
implementing a dry heat sterilization system in the existing lab.
TPS published a dry heat sterilization information portal,
including Waldrab’s article online at www.thermalproductsolutions.com/dry-heat-sterilization.aspx.
As part of SPX Corp., a Fortune-500 company, TPS has emerged
as a global leader in the design and manufacture of industrial ovens,
environmental simulation, heat treating, photovoltaic and pharmaceutical
equipment.
