Compact Iron Pot Melting Furnace
Designed especially for melting and holding zinc, lead and other
low melting metals. This compact unit features long pot life, quiet
operation
and high heat efficiency. For use where limited floor space demands maximum
working perimeter.
Compactness
Furnace is designed with a "packaged" combustion system, flue
and slag port all at the rear of the furnace for smallest possible
overall floor dimensions.
Accessibility
Compact design results in practical working perimeter of approximately
230 degrees.
Quiet operation
Combustion package consists of special long-flame, nozzle-mix burner
and self-contained low-pressure combustion air blower. Burner is sealed
to develop a slight furnace back pressure and prevent the entry
of free air. Together with the blower design, the system results in
a relatively quiet operation. Burner will operate on either natural
gas or propane gas.
Log pot life is assured by aiming the
burner tangentially at the pot which provides even and symmetrical heating
of
the pot. Cast iron top ring with evenly
spaced lugs prevents pot flange from resting directly on the furnace.
A small amount of flue gas exhausts through openings below the lugs
to heat the pot flange so that the entire pot is heated. The rear
flue exhausts the majority of combustion products.
Spark ignited pilot with flame rod safety
supervision is standard. Minor additional equipment for meeting specific
insurance requirement is optional.
Quickly installed
Furnace, combustion equipment and prewired control
panel are shipped as one complete unit. Furnace is ready for operation
after connecting thermocouple, and making single fuel and power connections.
Furnace comes with twist-lock plug-in power connector, operates on
155V, single-phase, 50/60 Hz. Fork lift channels in the in the furnace
base
make handling easy.
Automatic temperature control requires
optional control pyrometer and lead wire. A motorized gas-valve, standard
on all furnaces, is used for on-off automatic control.
Refractory material consists of high quality
brick backed up with heavy insulating material.
Hoods for removing fumes when melting
metals such as zinc are available for all sizes as options. Hoods feature
roller mounted sliding doors
and cutout panel in the top so that the pot can be removed or installed
by chain hoist without removing hood.
MPH also builds special furnaces for pot sizes other than shown or
for other metals. |
