Gruenberg Dry Heat Sterilization System for Vivariums
The Gruenberg Dry Heat Sterilization System for Vivariums provides the animal care market with equipment to sterilize animal habitat cages through the process of dry heat sterilization. These sterilizers are designed and built for lab animal science applications and feature detachable cage pods to allow for better cycle times and expandability as your needs grow.

Benefits of Dry Heat Sterilization- Lower total cost of ownership
- Expandable capacity using multiple truck cage pods
- Quiet operation in labs with sensitive animals
- Green, energy efficient design
- Remote controls allow technicians to work away from sterilizer
- Flexible installation options
- Fast total cycle times
- Lower initial cost
Dry Heat Sterilizer Construction
The dry heat sterilizers are constructed from a structural steel frame, which supports the chamber liner and the exterior sheet metal. All interconnecting struts are non-continuous from inner to outer walls, thus keeping the exterior cool.
304L stainless steel with a 2B finish is used, continuously welded to ensure a sealed chamber. Each chamber has a three inch thick, chloride free, non-setting insulation.
Adjustable Leveling Legs
The dry heat sterilizer's stand is equipped with a set of adjustable leveling feet that give the oven an adjustment range of ± 2 inches.
Circulation System With and Without Cage Pod
To ensure uniform temperature distribution throughout the workspace and to increase efficiency, a 1200 CFM vertical up airflow system is used.
Dry Heating System
Sheathed, tubular, Incoloy heating elements provide easy maintenace. The heater is mounted externally to the load chamber and automatically shuts off should the air supply fail.
Pressure Balance Vent with Filter
A filtered pressure balance vent is located at the top of the sterilizer to help maintain proper chamber pressure. Exhausting air will pass through a HEPA filter that is rated at 99.97% efficient at particles 0.3 microns or larger. Challenge ports are provided for the verification of filter integrity.
Controls and Instrumentation
All operating controls for the sterilizer are housed in a single stainless steel NEMA 1 control box mounted on the side of the unit. Circuit wiring is complete, including a step-down transformer to provide the control circuits with 110 volt power. The control box can be remotely mounted if desired.
Temperature Controller
Yokogawa UT150 digital temperature controller (microprocessor based with single input, dual output, and auto tuning).
High Limit Thermostat
Independent Yokogawa UT150L-RN/AL high limit thermostat deenergizes the heating system if the process temperature reaches a preset limit. The high limit control must be manually reset to reactivate heating.
Temperature Recorder (Optional)
Honeywell DR4300GP single pen recorder, with a 10” diameter circular chart and 24 hour chart speed can be added. The dry heat sterilizer includes a thermocouple type temperature sensor.
Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge
A magnahelic gauge monitors the static pressure of the exhaust HEPA filter.
Light Tower
A light tower will give a prominent visual display of oven condition.
