Announcing Gruenberg’s Out of Autoclave Curing Oven Solutions for Complex Composite Materials

Demand continues to grow for the strong, light-weight, durable, and complex composite materials that have revolutionized the aerospace, automotive, marine, wind energy, construction, healthcare, sporting goods, and consumer products industries.

Historically, many of these materials were manufactured using autoclave technology, which applies steam, heat, and high pressure in a liquid nitrogen environment to create the low-to-no void bonds necessary to create composite components. However, the extremely capital-intensive equipment costs, high operational costs, slow curing cycle times, production constraints, and limited pressure-vessel size associated with autoclaves have prompted manufacturers to seek more versatile, less costly, out-of-autoclave, composite-curing solutions.

Gruenberg announces the launch of its new microsite dedicated to the out-of-autoclave curing of complex and advanced composite materials. Our standard and custom composite-curing ovens and process-control systems are capable of curing all advanced composite materials.

Benefits and Features:

  • Fully scalable, customizable, composite-curing oven designs built to meet your specific production needs

  • Able to cure composite materials of complex contours, shapes, and sizes with little-to-no void content

  • Ability to make in-process, production adjustments

  • Standard and optional vacuum technology for vacuum-infusion processing; resin transfer molding (RTM); same-qualified resin transfer molding (SQRTM); vacuum-assisted, resin transfer molding (VARTM); and prepreg processing

  • Gruenberg FOCUS thermal-processing system, available in InFOCUS, SharpFOCUS, and our top-of-the-line, SmartFOCUS control system with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA.)
