Posted: Sep 27, 2018

Tenney Environmental, announced the second shipment of multiple thermal shock chambers to be used for various types of automotive thermal-shock testing for this customer. The customer is a premier Automotive Test laboratory for product testing and validation.

The Tenney thermal shock chamber is designed with a 2-zone vertical configuration and utilizes a horizontal airflow system. The transfer basket has dimensions of 25” W x 23” D x 25” H and includes four (4) expanded metal shelves.  Each chamber is constructed with a welded, vapor tight type-304 2B stainless steel liner.

The automotive thermal shock chamber has an operating temperature range of -73°C to +40°C in the cold chamber and above ambient to +200°C in the hot chamber. The chamber is cooled by a cascade type refrigeration system that includes a set of high pressure and low pressure gauges for each system. A dry air purge system is utilized to minimize the buildup of moisture and prevent condensation on the product under test.

“This Tenney thermal shock chamber is designed with advanced programming capabilities that provide our customer with the flexibility to test a range of products.” – John Eldred, Regional Sales Manager
