The Smart 1.0 Controller is a Windows-based, programmable-logic controller (PLC) that provides the best of both worlds - the cost effectiveness of a PLC and the flexibility of Windows. Smart 1.0 is a comprehensive, affordable, scalable, and extensible controller platform for use in environmental-testing chambers and industrial ovens. It has a real-time function screen and communicates in real time, providing remote access via smartphone, tablet, etc., using an Internet connection and VNC application. It offers smart-screen navigation, smart data logging and trending, smart and intuitive alarms, and smart and easy programming.
Smart 1.0 offers a WVGA 800 x 480, high-resolution, graphical touch screen; Smart 1.0 graphical user interface; 32-bit RISC 400 MHz central processing unit; and 4GB (SD card) flash storage. It accommodates up to 100 profiles, with up to 100 steps each. Test data retrieval and profile-data transfer/sharing are accomplished through a local, USB flash drive. Individual PID control loops allow for precise process control, with ramp/soak programming for each loop.
A 100-ohm platinum resistance-temperature detector is used for temperature measurement, and a dry-capacitor type sensor is used for humidity measurement. Six customer-event outputs (2 on the Tenney C-EVO) are provided for special applications, and the controller scales up and down to offer customers more product features. Specialty modules are available for customization.
The Smart 1.0 Controller's Smartwire architecture involves less wiring than other controllers, reducing the opportunity for errors and making troubleshooting and replacement easier.
Ethernet is standard on all models. Serial Modbus RTU (RS232 or RS485) and IEEE-488 also are available.
