Medical Provider Sees Value in the Gruenberg Cure

Medical Provider Sees Value in the Gruenberg Cure

One of the world’s largest global providers in the medical industry required an oven that would safely cure silicone hydrogel based contact lenses to the stringent FDA-approved standards.

Thermal Product Solutions customized a 13 cubic foot Gruenberg Cabinet Oven to meet their needs. The main mechanical feature of this custom oven is a vertical lift door that moves downward to open. Pneumatically inflated door gaskets are used to seal the oven door utilizing gaseous nitrogen. The oven uses a process within an inert atmosphere (nitrogen) using an electric heating system, chilled water-cooled cooling system and high volume horizontal airflow system.

  • Precise temperature and process control is achieved with the Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 1500 Operator Interface Terminal and an Allen-Bradley Compact Logix Programmable Logic Controller
  • Over temperature protection is provided with a Yokogawa UT 150L Limit Controller
  • Chamber is capable of reaching 149°C (300° F) maximum temperature
