Safely Curing Components for the Nuclear Electric Power Industry

In the nuclear electric power industry, crucial machinery can be subjected to extreme environments, requiring the components of this equipment to be forged with superior strength. Thermal Product Solutions designed a custom 11.25 cubic foot industrial oven that cures these component parts at ultra high temperatures of up to 1300°F.

The Blue M oven features an electric motor-driven vertical lift access door for safe, easy loading and unloading without cycling down. Heating of the oven is achieved by recirculating air through open air nichrome wire heater elements located in an isolated plenum beneath the chamber to prevent direct heat radiation. Cooling is achieved by adjusting dampers within the intake and exhaust ports. A separate control cabinet protects the unit’s essential technology from overtemperature exposure. Crucial to the curing process, this custom oven maintains maximum temperature uniformity by utilizing a high volume air circulation system and is controlled with a precise Compact Logix and a Panelview Plus 700.
